Job description
JOB TITLE: Housekeeping Valet
DEPARTMENT: Housekeeping
SUPERVISOR/MANAGER: Assistant Executive Hsk/Laundry

OVERALL JOB PURPOSE

To assist the Assistant Executive Laundry Manager with the services of all guest dry cleaning, laundry and pressing.

Accountable Duties

• To collect laundry, dry cleaning and pressing from the guests
• Ensure that all appropriate listings have been completed
• To carry out packing and unpacking for guests as requested
• Carry out shoe shine service between 7am and 10pm on request
• Answer the telephone in the manner laid down by the Company and record all messages
• Record, using the laid down procedure, all items stored for guests, and ensure they are in safe and excellent condition
• Carry out room moves on request, in the presence of Security or the Duty Manager
• Sewing, repairs and pressing as required
• Posting all bills through the computer and passing the lists to accounts
• To never charge the guest on a cash basis. Advise clients that all charges will be placed on account
• To co-operate with uniform attendant and linen room in the maintenance and pressing of uniforms
• Perform related duties in related departments and special projects as assigned
• To retain and control issue to guests pairs of cufflinks and black bow ties
• Ensure polite and efficient communication with the guests at all times
• To report to Head Valet/Executive Housekeeper/Duty Housekeeper any complaints of loss or damage from a client
• To log any guest complaints of loss or damage in the computer
• To keep clean and tidy at all times, the Valet service and its equipment
• To ensure safe and secure use of keys entrusted to you and to wear them attached to your person at all times
• To report the loss of a key to the Executive Housekeeper or Security immediately
• To make sure you sign in on the computer at the start of your duty and sign off at the end of duty
• Receive and check the clean guest laundry and dry cleaning before delivering to rooms
• Comply with the set standards of behaviour, discipline and appearance within the Hotel
• Comply with the Hotel’s Health, Safety and Hygiene policy
• Comply with the Hotel and Department Fire/Bomb procedures and assist with evacuations if necessary
• Inform Security of matters relating to the security of the Hotel, staff and guests’ property



Qualifications

• 1-3 years experience in the Hospitality Industry.
• Outstanding communication skills, both written & verbal.
• A confident & dynamic speaker, able to communicate and interact effectively with all levels of an organization.
• Enthusiastic and positive personality with the ability to build trusting relationships with others.
• Proven organizational skills, works well on their own. Able to set and meet deadlines with quality results.
• Applicable job related skills as per Accountable Duties.
