The Ship at Dunwich is seeking an experienced, skilled Head Chef to lead the kitchen team. At Chestnut, we pride ourselves on using fresh, locally sourced food, culinary creativity and delivering an exceptional culinary experience for our guests.

A stroll from the beach, open log fires in winter, light and airy in summer with sheltered sun traps outside in Autumn and Spring to enjoy off season sunshine. Paired with simple, beautifully cooked food - of the season and of the place, all washed down with a pint of beer or a glass of pinot. 

Job Requirements

• Design and develop seasonal menus that reflect creativity which aligns with Chestnut’s vision.
• Recruit, train, and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
• Ensure every dish meets our high standards for taste, presentation, and consistency.
• Oversee kitchen operations, including inventory management, cost control, and adherence to health and safety regulations.
• Dry stock management
• Working closely with the General Manager to cultivate a positive and motivated work environment, ensuring all team members perform to their best abilities.
