  • Must have experience, a positive attitude, be punctual, and be a team player
  • High school diploma: A higher degree in hospitality or a relevant field will be a plus

A Day in The Life

As a Prep Cook, you’ll play a vital role in keeping our kitchen running smoothly by preparing high-quality ingredients, supporting the line, and upholding our standards for cleanliness, consistency, and food safety. If you’re passionate about bold flavors, scratch cooking, and learning from experienced chefs, this role can be a launchpad for your growth within a restaurant that celebrates craft cooking and genuine Sicilian hospitality.

  • Follow the prep list created by chefs to plan duties 
  • Label and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible 
  • Measure ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking 
  • Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat, etc. 
  • Undertake basic cooking duties such as reducing sauces, parboiling food, etc. 
  • Prepare simple dishes such as salads, entrees, etc. 
  • Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out the trash, etc. 
  • Ensure all food and other items are stored properly 
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines 
  • Perform other kitchen duties as assigned

WORKING CONDITIONS: Position requires qualified individuals to see, hear and speak (verbally and audibly). Required to ascend and descend stairs; sit and stand for extended periods of time; lift up to 50 pounds, bend, stoop and kneel. May be required to work outside in various weather conditions. May be required to work on a computer for extended periods of time, including viewing the screen, using a mouse, manipulating a keyboard with hands, and reaching with arms. May be asked to drive or travel by car, air, or other transportation for business purposes. Must be able to function effectively in a fast-paced working environment. Must be able to report to work responsive, free from sedatives, and in a non-sedative state. Must disclose prescribed and/or over-the-counter pharmaceuticals that may impair or affect the ability to perform the job's essential functions. Natural and regular stressors occur on the job.
