The Sicilian Butcher is a chef-driven, scratch-made, modern Italian concept from celebrity chef Joey Maggiore—the visionary behind Hash Kitchen, The Sicilian Baker, The Mexicano, and Tomaso’s. Known for our fresh pastas, house-made meatballs, and Italian hospitality, we’re excited to bring our unique concept to San Antonio for the first time.

We are hiring Prep Cooks to help us prepare for our grand opening and build a strong back-of-house team!

Job Responsibilities

As a Prep Cook, you’ll be responsible for setting the stage for an excellent dining experience by ensuring all ingredients are prepped, stored, and ready for our culinary team. You will:

  • Prepare and portion ingredients following company recipes and standards

  • Wash, peel, chop, and label ingredients according to prep lists

  • Maintain a clean and organized prep station

  • Safely operate kitchen equipment such as slicers, mixers, and ovens

  • Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures

  • Assist cooks and chefs during service as needed

  • Support daily cleaning and closing duties in the kitchen


What We’re Looking For

  • Previous kitchen or prep experience preferred, but we’re willing to train

  • Strong knife skills and comfort with kitchen equipment a plus

  • Attention to detail and ability to follow recipes consistently

  • Positive attitude and willingness to be a team player

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds

  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
