Stout NYC Hospitality Group consists of a dozen owner-operated bars/restaurants throughout New York City. Our mission is to provide authentic, accessible, desirable spaces for people seeking meaningful connections with friends, family, and colleagues. With specific attention to the guest experience and our food and drinks programs, our aim is to create a true home for the public to come as they are.
Stout NYC Hospitality Group consists of a dozen owner-operated bars/restaurants throughout New York City. Our mission is to provide authentic, accessible, desirable spaces for people seeking meaningful connections with friends, family, and colleagues. With specific attention to the guest experience and our food and drinks programs, our aim is to create a true home for the public to come as they are.


We are seeking hosts to join our team. You must be able to multi task and be comfortable in a busy fast paced environment. Experience with food service preferred. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet guests with warmth, professionalism, and attentiveness, ensuring every guest feels genuinely welcomed upon entry.

  • Manage reservation systems and guest flow, coordinating with the kitchen and floor staff to optimize table turns without compromising guest satisfaction.

  • Oversee and train host staff, ensuring adherence to service standards and proper guest communication.

  • Maintain detailed awareness of VIP guests, special occasions, and any specific guest preferences to personalize service.

  • Handle guest inquiries, concerns, and feedback with tact and urgency, ensuring issues are resolved efficiently and discreetly.

  • Collaborate with servers, bartenders, and kitchen staff to ensure seamless front-of-house operations.

  • Maintain the appearance and ambiance of the entryway and reception area.

  • Uphold The Splendid’s standards of service, hospitality, and appearance at all times.

  • Lead by example through punctuality, professionalism, and a service-first mindset.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience as a Maitre D’ or similar high-level host/guest service position in a fine dining or upscale restaurant.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Proven ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.

  • Understanding of hospitality, guest psychology, and service recovery.

  • Proficiency with Resy

  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

  • A gracious, confident, and welcoming demeanor — the kind that makes a lasting first impression.
