We are currently looking for an experienced Linen Porter to join our team at The Stafford London Hotel.

The Linen Porter is responsible for managing the inventory of linens and maintaining their cleanliness and quality to meet the standards of the Hotel. This role involves handling, storing, distributing, and organizing linens in an efficient and orderly manner.

About the role, what will I be doing?

  • Collect dirty linen from maid services in the correct manner
  • Load and operate laundry machines, such as washing machines, dryers, and ironing equipment, to clean linens
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the assigned machinery and equipment all the time. Report to the supervisor any unusual function of the equipment
  • Sort torn and stained articles for reporting purposes
  • Fold, stack, and organise cleaned linens in a neat and organised manner
  • Ensure that linens are properly ironed and pressed before distribution.
  • Distribute clean linens to guest rooms
  • Keep track of linen inventory levels and report shortages or excesses to the housekeeping or purchasing departments.
  • Clean designated areas with proper chemicals, tools and equipment
  • Clean the lint trap compartment of the Dryer Machine before starting the operation and as often as required
  • Ensure that nothing is stored in stairwells, fire exits and lift landings
  • Count correctly and methodically dirty linen and record correctly
  • Ensure guest laundry goes out in a timely manner, and is correctly recorded

 

Who are we looking for?

  • Previous experience in a similar role in a five star hotel
  • Highly organized, multitasking individual with a positive attitude & a team player
  • Ability to manage varying needs and prioritizing to ensure the best business results
  • Excellent communication skills
  • An exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy bags of linens.
  • Knowledge of safety and hygiene protocols when handling laundry chemicals and equipment.
