Critically acclaimed and award-winning José Pizarro restaurant group is seeking an Assistant General Manager to join The Swan Inn team in the beautiful Esher, Surrey area.

This is your opportunity to join the Pizarro family, led by Chef José Pizarro, widely known as the Godfather of Spanish food in the UK. 
José Pizarro The Swan Inn is the fourth restaurant in José Pizarro’s repertoire. The Surrey pub in the town of Esher has a typical British pub feel, but in true José's style serves delicious Spanish classics using the best Spanish ingredients alongside locally sourced produce.

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a passion for hospitality, ensuring that our guests receive exceptional service in a vibrant atmosphere. As the AGM, you will be responsible for managing staff, ensuring all standards are consistently understood and delivered to the highest standards, and creating an inviting environment that encourages repeat visits.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the floor team, fostering a collaborative and motivated work environment.
• To optimise profit and ensure that customers are satisfied with their experience.
• Responsibility for financial administration.
• To assist the General Manager in ensuring all team members comply with H&S, food hygiene and alcohol licensing regulations at all times.
• Develop and implement training programs for staff on service techniques and product knowledge.
• Monitor customer feedback and make adjustments to improve service quality.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure seamless service during busy periods.
• Ensure efficient maintenance of the pub and arrange for routine and reactive maintenance of equipment.

Skills and job requirements 

• Proven experience in a management role within a pub or a restaurant setting.
• Strong team management skills with the ability to lead by example.
• Excellent leadership qualities that inspire staff performance and development.
• Knowledge of food and drink preparation techniques and culinary principles is advantageous.
• Familiarity with food safety and health and safety regulations and best practices in hospitality settings.
• Exceptional communication skills to effectively engage with both staff and customers.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Right to work in the UK.
