JOB SUMMARY:
This position offers routine, stability and opportunities to cooperate in a task focused team; whilst operating within clearly defined standards and expectations; where attention to details and precision is recognised and valued.

ORGANISATIONAL POSITIONING:
• Department: Maintenance
• Reporting to: Maintenance Manager
• Location: The Twelve Apostles Hotel Premises

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE OR QUALIFICATION:
• NQF Level 5 certificate in building or structural maintenance or equivalent trade test certificate
• At least 5 years’ experience in a general maintenance position of which at least 2 years’ experience in a 4/5* Hotel environment in a supervisory capacity
• Proven understanding of Health and Safety standards
• Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office Outlook, Word and Excel
• Working knowledge of a Property Management System; exposure to Opera advantageous
• Excellent command of the English language with solid verbal and written communication skills
• Must be able to work flexible hours including week-end, public holidays, night shifts
• Presentable and well-mannered
• Proven experience with stock taking and stock control processes

BEHAVIOURAL SUMMARY:
The focus of this job is on producing high quality, detailed work based on established standards, guidelines and procedures. Precise, consistent work output is essential requiring patience and a willingness to handle and complete one task at a time. The job environment is stable, based on known relationships with people and well-defined processes. Job knowledge and competency is built through structured step-by-step training and positive, supportive coaching from management and peers. Communication with others is based on knowledge of repetitive job routines and procedures gained from sufficient on the job experience. Consistent, error free work based on defined regulations and standards are key measures of job performance success. The job environment promotes steady, methodical work output so that job routines can be completed on time and error-free. This position is designed to develop a valued technical expert, who, recognized and supported by management and a stable work environment, can deliver quality work on a consistent basis.

KEY PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES:
• To ensure that all day-to-day maintenance of guest rooms, public areas, building interior and exterior as well as the cleaning and testing of pools is completed in accordance with RCH and LHW standards
• To ensure that the annual maintenance rooms program is executed within budget and time frame in accordance with the owner’s mandate
• To ensure that the monthly maintenance consumable stock-take is completed and ensure that any variances are investigated, resolved and reported on in accordance with the financial guidelines as set out by the Cost controller.
• To ensure the administration and documenting of daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly legionella measurements in accordance with H&S standards
