Reports To: Chef de Cuisine / Sous Chef

Welcome to The Whit

The Whit is an intimate luxury boutique hotel housed in a beautifully restored 19th-century mansion in the heart of New Orleans. Featuring 15 elegant guest rooms, a bespoke bar, a cocktail salon, and a curated library, our refined culinary program centers around elevated small plates, exceptional wines, handcrafted cocktails, and a robust private events calendar. The Whit is intentionally designed to feel less like a traditional hotel and more like the private home of an extraordinary, discerning host.

We're looking for a dedicated Dishwasher to help us maintain the immaculate standards our guests and culinary team deserve — and to be a foundational part of our opening kitchen team.

Core Responsibilities

Kitchen Support & Sanitation

• Wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment efficiently and thoroughly • Maintain a clean, organized dish pit and support overall kitchen cleanliness throughout service

• Properly sort, stack, and store clean dishes and equipment for smooth service flow Opening Team Contribution • Join a pre-opening team building kitchen systems and routines from the ground up

• Help establish sanitation workflows and breakdown checklists alongside kitchen leadership Operational Execution

• Assist with kitchen breakdown at the end of service to ensure an immaculate, fully sanitized space is handed over to the next shift

• Empty trash and recycling, and support basic food prep or stocking as needed

• Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines with consistency and care Team Culture

• Contribute to a collaborative, respectful kitchen culture rooted in genuine hospitality — for guests and for the team alike Position Requirements

• Previous dishwashing or kitchen experience preferred, but not required

• Ability to stand, move quickly, and maintain energy for extended periods during demanding services

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and comfortably perform routine bending, reaching, and lifting tasks (with or without reasonable accommodations) • Reliable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a team
