Description

Are you a skilled and enthusiastic breakfast Chef looking to work with top-quality produce in a creative, forward-thinking kitchen? Do you want to be part of a passionate team in a beautifully restored country pub? We’d love to hear from you.

The Reimagined Woolpack Inn: Where Heritage Meets Culinary Excellence

Tucked away in the tranquil village of Totford, Hampshire, The Woolpack Inn is a newly refurbished Grade I listed pub with rooms. With a stunning blend of historic charm and modern comfort, we’re reopening with fresh ambition and a renewed focus on exceptional food and genuine hospitality.

A Kitchen Rooted in Quality

Under the leadership of Head Chef Luke, our kitchen celebrates seasonal cooking and local ingredients — many of which come straight from our on-site Market Garden. Our commitment to sustainability and flavour has earned us Two AA Rosettes, and we’re just getting started.

As we grow, we’re looking for a talented Breakfast Chef to join our kitchen brigade.

Why Join Us?

  • Be part of an exciting destination country pub

  • Great work life balance working between 30-35 per week

  • Cook with fresh, seasonal ingredients — many grown just steps away

  • Learn and grow in a supportive, structured kitchen environment

  • Work alongside a passionate team and experienced Head Chef

  • Enjoy the balance of a professional kitchen and a relaxed rural setting

The Role

As Breakfast Chef, you'll take ownership of your section and work closely with the Sous and Head Chef to deliver consistently high standards of food. You’ll be trusted with responsibility, given opportunities to develop your skills, and encouraged to bring your passion to the plate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Running your section efficiently during prep and service

  • Ensuring consistency, presentation, and quality at all times

  • Supporting junior chefs and maintaining high kitchen standards

  • Following kitchen procedures, including health & safety and cleanliness

What We’re Looking For:

  • At least 1–2 years’ experience in a quality kitchen

  • A strong understanding of fresh, seasonal cooking

  • Good communication, organisation, and time management

  • A team player who’s keen to learn and grow

  • Pride in your work and attention to detail under pressure

What You’ll Get:

  • Competitive salary + generous tips

  • A supportive, experienced kitchen team to learn from

  • The opportunity to work with some of Hampshire’s best produce

  • A beautiful countryside location and welcoming team culture

  • Real chances to progress within a growing business
