The bit ‘About You’


You are a proficient payroller with experience of working in a high-volume, fast-moving environment. Previous retail sector experience is a plus and experience of using iTrent is highly desirable.

You will need to be passionate about payroll and have strong administration and organisation skills.


The bit ‘About the Role’

 

In this newly created role, we are looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our proactive and successful People Team. Reporting to the Payroll Services Team Leader, you will play an important role in ensuring our 4000 colleagues are paid correctly for the amazing work they do.  This is a busy role as you will also work closely with the Pay and Benefits Manager, supporting our ongoing projects within the payroll team.


Some of the key responsibilities you will need to undertake:

  • End to end payroll processing in a large volume payroll.
  • Manual calculations as required
  • FPS/EPS
  • Assisting colleagues with pay queries
  • Auto enrolment
  • Assist with preparation of ROI/IOM payrolls
  • Payroll reconciliation
  • Absence calculations/payments
  • BACs processing
  • Offcycle payments

 

The bits we are looking for in you

  • Experienced in large volume payroll (3,000+ employees)
  • iTrent experience highly preferred
  • Sound working knowledge of PAYE and National Insurance statutory requirements, statutory leave, manual calculations     
  • Experienced in dealing with HMRC, RTI (FPS, EPS etc)
  • Up to date legislation knowledge (PENP, holiday pay, etc)
  • Knowledge of Company Pension Schemes, including Auto-Enrolment pension schemes
  • Preferable knowledge of ROI payroll taxation, including PRSI, USC, LPT and BIK
  • Knowledge of IOM payroll desirable but not essential.
  • P11d experience desirable
  • EOY experience
  • Able to build/maintain relationships

This will be a busy role, so we are looking for the following:

  • Strong payroll skills
  • Up to date payroll legislation knowledge
  • Ability to be calm under pressure
  • Team player both with your own team and other stakeholders as necessary
  • Strong customer service skills when dealing with colleague enquiries
  • Excellent communication, organisation and interpersonal skills  
  • Results driven and self-motivated
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office including Excel and Word
  • Willingness to learn and develop within the role
