Are you someone working in a training or communications related environment looking to develop your career and skills? Or someone who is an excellent administrator looking to move into a communications and training environment and develop your career in these areas?


You will need to be passionate about people and have strong administration and organisation skills. Ideally, you will have experience in a people environment – either in communications or learning.

 

It would be advantageous if you have an interest in design, with a natural flair for writing, creativity and thinking on your feet.

 

The short bit ‘About the Role’


In this newly created role, we are looking for a Communications & Training Coordinator to join our proactive and successful People Team. Reporting to the Internal Communications and Engagement Manager, you will play an important role in communicating and engaging with our 4000 colleagues in the amazing work the people team do.  This is a varied role as you will also work closely with the People Development Partner, supporting our ambitious learning and development activities and plans.

 

Some of the key responsibilities you will need to undertake:

  • Support the Internal Communications and Engagement Manager to co-ordinate employee engagement events and activities in line with our annual events calendar.
  • Monitor our internal communications channels and produce our monthly communications performance dashboard.
  • Manage engagement competitions, prizes and our competition log.
  • Support the Communications team to produce internal communications materials and content.
  • Monitor the communications and training inboxes and manage enquiries.
  • Co-ordinate our employee mailing lists and update our email software systems.
  • Work alongside the People Development Partner in the planning and management of training and onboarding plans, monitoring them for effectiveness.
  • Work with the Retail Training Partners to organise and arrange training courses, encourage participation and plan onboarding sessions.
  • Support corporate inductions for new colleagues in the Support Centre, ensuring colleagues receive a warm welcome and an induction which sets them up for success

This will be a busy and varied role so we are looking for the following:

  • Strong administration skills
  • Excellent communication, organisation and interpersonal skills  
  • The ability to communicate and engage colleagues at all levels across the business
  • Results driven and self-motivated
  • An eye for detail and good proof-reading skills
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • A flair for writing, design and digital communications would be desirable 
  • Willingness to learn and develop within the role
