Sustainability Manager

We are excited to be going to market with this brand new Sustainability Manager opportunity. Reporting into the People Director, this role will lead on our environmental workstream to accelerate our ESG commitments.

You will be our champion coordinating our Environmental, Social and Governance workstreams, whilst introducing and managing projects and initiatives to deliver business targets and objectives.

 About the role

  • Leading the development and delivery of our long-term sustainability strategy
  • Identifying areas where the business could improve its sustainability practices
  • Social and environmental vetting of supply chains
  • Liaising with stakeholders to develop and embed sustainability objectives across all business activities
  • Sustainability reporting
  • Introducing Environmental, Social and Governance targets and initiatives to communicate with the wider business.
  • Ensuring legal compliance by keeping up to date with relevant legislation and advising where necessary
  • Act as a positive role model for colleagues

About you

To be successful in this role you will need to be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Proven experience within a previous sustainability, ESG role
  • Experience in managing projects which deliver against strategic objectives
  • The ability to take a logical and measured approach to complex issues
  • A good understanding of Environmental, Social and Governance related standards and frameworks, including; Green House Gases (GHG) Protocol, Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), and Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD)
  • Knowledge of Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions
  • Understanding of corporate sustainability reporting regulations
  • Familiar with corporate net-zero programmes and net-zero strategy
  • The ability to communicate confidently and concisely to all levels within the business
