Overview of the Role

We are looking for an experienced Payroll Team Leader to join our proactive and successful People Team. Reporting to the Payroll & Benefits Manager, you will play an important role in ensuring our 4,000 colleagues are paid correctly and timely for the amazing work they do.

This is a busy role as you will also work closely with the Payroll and Benefits Manager, supporting our ongoing projects within the payroll team.

Who we're looking for


You will already be a proficient Payroll Team Leader and comfortable leading a team in a high-volume, fast-moving environment.  

 

You will be passionate about payroll and have strong administration and organisation skills. You will enjoy the challenge of rolling up your sleeves and getting stuck in to help develop the department, team, systems and processes

Previous experience sought:

 

  • Experienced in large volume, end-to-end payroll of 3,000+ employees
  • Team leadership: Developing a team though objectives, coaching, check-ins and PDP
  • Comfortable using payroll systems (We use iTrent, by the way)
  • Sound working knowledge of PAYE and National Insurance statutory requirements, statutory leave and manual calculations     
  • Experienced in dealing with HMRC, RTI (FPS, EPS etc.)
  • Up to date legislation knowledge (PENP, holiday pay, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Company Pension Schemes, including Auto-Enrolment pension schemes
  • EOY experience
  • Reconciliation of payroll
  • It would be amazing if you knew your stuff on ROI and IOM payroll too, but don’t worry if you don’t
  • P11d experience could set you apart
