The Chequers, in the picture-perfect village of Churchill is everything a traditional pub should be with its pretty Cotswold stone exterior, roaring fires and comfortable lounging areas and we have an opportunity for a Restaurant Manager to join our friendly team. We are proud of our flagship gastro pub in the heart of the Cotswolds where locals and visitors alike enjoy locally brewed beer propped at our bar with friends and family, or rustic dishes in our restaurant using the very best British ingredients in our well-loved classics that have quite a foodie following. 

Our Chequers team are well-rounded hosts, who have joined our little pub knowing our reputation for fun, creativity and being quintessentially Cotswold. Paying homage to our local farmers and country provenance, our restaurant team have their own foodie heroes and wax lyrical about our Chequers menus as they change with the seasons. 

Our Restaurant Manager will have similarly admirable foodie qualities, a love for great menus, a knowledge of seasonal produce, you’ll be a great dinner party host and a creative cook in your own kitchen. You’ll understand the importance of giving good hearted, genuine and attentive service in our restaurant and be able to coach our team to ensure we have fun and grow our knowledge as confident hosts. 

You’ll be managing a team of people, coaching our supervisors and ensuring sections are managed appropriately and ensuring that our restaurant hosting feels almost effortless; bringing out the best in our team. You will be ultra-organised and efficient, ensuring rotas are planned and communicated well in advance with your team; with great interpersonal skills you will be able to recover any difficult service situations should there be any. You’ll lead by example; taking ownership of the restaurant, demonstrating great service, food knowledge, attention to detail and take personal pride to ensure consistent service standards. We would expect you to learn from others and communicate well with the Bar and Kitchen as part of the management team, playing your part to ensure our guests leave happy and return soon.
