Opened in May 2021, The Double Red Duke has a total19 bedrooms and a menu catered around an open-fire kitchen.

The 17th century wisteria-clad, Cotswold-stone coaching inn is located East of Oxford and only minutes from William Morris’s Kelmscott the village where the famous designer and founding figure of the Arts & Crafts movement lived.

The Double Red Duke is a renowned establishment known for its warm hospitality, vibrant atmosphere, and exceptional service. We pride ourselves on creating memorable experiences for our guests through our diverse selection of beverages and a team committed to excellence.

Job Description:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Bartender to join our team at the Double Red Duke. As a Bartender, you will be the face of our bar, providing excellent service, crafting exquisite drinks, and ensuring our guests have a delightful experience.

Key Responsibilities:

· Drink Preparation and Service:

- Prepare and serve a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, beers, wines, and specialty drinks.

- Customize drinks according to guest preferences and dietary requirements.

- Ensure proper presentation and garnishing of all drinks.

- Serve drinks quickly and efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards.

· Customer Interaction:

- Greet guests warmly and engage with them to enhance their experience.

- Take orders and provide recommendations based on guest preferences.

- Answer questions regarding drink menus and bar operations.

- Resolve any guest complaints or issues promptly and courteously.

· Bar Maintenance and Cleanliness:

- Keep the bar area clean, organized, and well-stocked always.

- Wash and sanitize glassware, utensils, and equipment regularly.

- Monitor and maintain inventory levels, including restocking spirits, mixers, and other supplies as needed.

- Perform opening and closing duties, including setting up the bar and securing it at the end of shifts.

· Inventory Management:

- Track and report inventory usage and discrepancies.

- Assist in ordering and receiving bar supplies and ingredients.

- Manage waste and spillage to minimize costs.

· Cash Handling and Transactions:

- Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately and efficiently.

- Maintain accurate records of sales and transactions.

- Balance cash drawers at the end of shifts and report any discrepancies.

· Collaboration and Teamwork:

- Work closely with other bartenders, servers, and kitchen staff to ensure seamless service.

- Communicate effectively with team members and management.

- Participate in team meetings and training sessions.

· Adherence to Policies and Regulations:

- Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverages.

- Comply with local and state alcohol regulations and age verification procedures.

- Ensure responsible alcohol service and monitor guest consumption.

Requirements:

- Previous experience as a Bartender or in a related hospitality role.

- Strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wines, and beers.

- Excellent customer service and communication skills.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

- Must be at least 18 years old.

- Certification in bartending is a plus.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: £12.50-£13.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
