HEAD CHEF

FRIENDLY TEAM / GOOD WORK/LIFE BALANCE

A fantastic opportunity to lead a small and talented team in a food focussed neighbourhood restaurant. Open 4 evenings per week, you can have great work life balance overseeing the smooth running of a busy and well oiled kitchen.


YOUR NEW ROLE AS HEAD CHEF:

  • Working alongside our executive chef on maintaining quality + consistency + menu development 

  • Looking out for the happiness and welfare of your team

  • Leading training to ensure accurate execution of dishes and good food knowledge in the front of house team

  • Recruiting + managing your own kitchen team, 

  • Ensuring the kitchen is appropriately staffed at all times

  • Ordering, stock management + producing weekly GP reports

  • Ensuring the smooth running of busy services

  • Maintaining high standards of kitchen health + safety + food safety 

  • Ensuring consistently high-calibre food quality + excellent presentation

SKILLS + QUALITIES:

  • Ability to lead + inspire your team

  • Outgoing, positive + driven

  • Meticulously organised + punctual

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Positive + approachable, firm + fair management style

  • Adept at implementing + maintaining kitchen systems

  • A confident people manager, who can oversee training + development

  • A working knowledge of stock/margin controls, ordering systems, HACCP + health + safety

  • Enthusiastic about food, local produce and sustainability and passion for high standards


ABOUT THE GOOD EGG:

The Good Egg started out as a street food stall set up by three friends. It is the result of a love of good food, sustainable thinking, hospitality and the talented people we’ve picked up along the way.

Our food offering is inspired by travels to the vibrant city of Tel Aviv, afternoons spent in classic Jewish delis of North America and childhood memories of Brick Lane beigels. We use high quality, sustainable ingredients, and have a 3-star Sustainable Restaurant Trust rating. 

Alongside Israeli, Middle Eastern and North American deli cuisine we offer quality coffee, top rate cocktails and a small but carefully curated wine list.
