Apprentice Maintenance & Facilities Operative
The Lowry Hotel, Manchester

We are looking for a motivated Apprentice Maintenance & Facilities Operative to join our Facilities team at Manchester’s first five-star hotel, The Lowry. Reporting to the Assistant Facilities Manager, with a dotted line to the Head of Facilities & Compliance, this role offers the chance to gain hands-on experience in luxury hospitality while completing a recognised apprenticeship in partnership with Trafford & Stockport College.

About the Apprenticeship
As part of the apprenticeship, you will spend one paid day each week attending Stockport College, with the rest of your time working on-site at The Lowry Hotel. You will develop skills across a wide range of trades including carpentry, plumbing, plastering, tiling, painting and decorating, as well as general day-to-day maintenance. You’ll also gain knowledge of building safety, sustainability, and digital reporting, giving you a strong foundation for a career in facilities management.

Your role will include:

·       Supporting the facilities team with daily maintenance and repair tasks.

·       Assisting with planned and responsive works across the hotel.

·       Learning and applying trade skills in a live hospitality environment.

·       Working both indoors and outdoors to maintain hotel standards.

·       Developing skills in sustainability and building performance optimisation.

Hours of Work
This is a full-time role on a shift basis, including weekends, with early and late shifts between 9am and 9pm. Flexibility is essential.
