An exciting opportunity has arisen at The Lowry Hotel - Manchester’s Iconic five-star hotel for an Events Sales Manager. 

Working within the Conference & Events Sales department, the Events Sales Manager will collate, co-ordinate and distribute Conference & Event information between clients and hotel departments, whilst ensuring the highest standard of service achieved.  

Some of your duties will

  • To be responsible for the day to day management of the C&B Events department and display a pro-active and innovative approach to skills development and standards enhancement with your team.
  • To develop alongside the Commercial Director the annual budgets for the department & continue to monitor performance compared with budget and to create a marketing plan and implementation of all sales strategies.
  • To control, develop and monitor the current Event departments account base with the Event planners.
  • To monitor business trends and ensure an accurate revenue forecast is produced and maintained.
  • To ensure that the Events team deliver an exceptional and efficient service from enquiry stage to arrival.

The ideal candidate must have a comprehensive knowledge of the requirements within Conference and Banqueting events sales team including a clear understanding of the operation. An ability to motivate a team in a fast paced environment with a clear focus on converting enquiries into contracted sales. Strong analytical skills are required to analyse the business and its trends with the output being a clear strategy for the department with a detailed C&B Events revenue forecast. You must be able to meet deadlines, have good computer skills and an excellent telephone manner including the ability to provide seamless service delivery with a nothing is too much trouble, attitude. Excellent organisation skills and the ability to multi-task are essential and previous experience of using Opera, Sales & Catering, SmartSpace, ResDiary etc. is desirable.

The hours of work are predominantly during the week, office hours however flexibility is required to attend functions as and when required, which may include weekends.
