Night Hotel Manager – Another Place, The Machrie | Duty Managers, Night Managers, Hotel Operations
Offering a competitive salary, monthly tips, use of our Championship Links Golf Course, and an annual £2,598 Islay Living Allowance (paid monthly) for all live-out team.
Wild coastlines, big skies and a close-knit island community set the rhythm of daily life on Islay. The roll of waves, breeze-blown dune grasses, and call of seabirds make up a rich island soundtrack. Originating from the Gaelic term ‘machair’, Machrie offers elevated comforts and unforgettable experiences.
This position would suit someone that enjoys their own company, has recent Night Audit experience and has a preference for rural living. At present, we’re unable to offer visa sponsorship. Therefore, candidates must have the existing right to work in the UK to be considered for this role.
Our Night House Manager role:
We’re looking for a Night Duty Manager to join our welcoming team.
As our Night Duty Manager, you’ll take the lead during the overnight operation of the hotel, ensuring everything runs smoothly whilst delivering a warm, professional and efficient service to our guests. From overseeing the hotel throughout the night and completing the night audit to welcoming late arrivals and supporting early departures, you’ll play a key role in creating a safe, seamless and memorable guest experience.
In return for your enthusiasm and commitment, you’ll find yourself in a group of likeminded people with a shared outlook on life; where friendship, connection, flexibility, variety and challenge make every working day worthwhile.
Due to the rural nature of the hotel, we're looking for an individual with previous experience of rural or island living, that enjoys their own company, and has recent experience of working nights (within the last two years is preferred).
This role is 42.5 hours per week, working four nights out of seven, and your own transport is essential. Use of the Islay car ferry is recommended for those not presently situated on the island.
As our Night Duty Manager you’ll be:
With 43 beautifully designed rooms, The Machrie encapsulates the best of both worlds; a feeling of being looked-after, and the freedom to explore.
The skills you’ll be sharing with us:
First Aid, Fire Warden training and an Enhanced DBS check are desirable, but not essential.
Bonus points if you have…
Life at Another Place, The Machrie
On Islay, The Machrie embraces all-season island living. Due to the hotel’s remote location, you will require a valid driving license and access to a personal vehicle. We offer also team accommodation within same-sex residences (where possible).
It’s our strong sense of community and our wider connection to Islay, that allows us to offer a space where outdoor living and indoor comforts coalesce – where both guests, locals, and team can rest, play, work, gather, and make the most of what matters.
What we’ll offer you in return:
If you would love to join us as our Night Duty Manager, apply now and be part of our journey at Another Place, The Machrie.
