Overview
The Pianist works closely with the Front Office Seniors and the General Manager on providing luxury experience throughout the guest journey from the moment they set eyes on our property, throughout their journey experiencing our facilities. The Pianist enhances an atmosphere of elegance and relaxation with a diverse repertoire that suits a refined, upscale environment. Being the first point of contact and sensual connection, your role is critical to creating lasting positive image, maintaining reputation and delivery of unparalleled guest experiences. The Pianist is an ambassador of Montcalm Collection and represents the brand and Company Values of belonging, sensitivity, wellbeing, changemaking and sustainability with professionalism, grace and warmth.
This position requires a musician who is not only skilled at playing but also sensitive to the ambiance, providing unobtrusive yet sophisticated background music that complements our brand’s luxurious setting.
Key Responsibilities
·Perform live piano music in the hotel lobby, lounge, or dining area during designated evening hours, enhancing the ambiance and creating a welcoming environment for guests.
·Play a well-rounded repertoire that includes classical, jazz, and popular standards, suitable for a luxury setting. Must be flexible with requests, if within the scope of the event and appropriate for the setting.
·Provide a warm and engaging presence, tailoring performance style to match the flow of the evening, responding to guest requests when appropriate.
·Dress in accordance with hotel standards and maintain a high level of professionalism, reflecting the elegance of the venue.
·Ensure high-quality sound performance, adjusting volume as needed to support a comfortable atmosphere without overpowering guest conversations.
·Work closely with hotel event and management teams to ensure the music complements ongoing activities, promotions, or seasonal themes.
·Respond to emergency situations calmly and efficiently, following hotel protocols.

Skills & Qualifications
·Ability to sight-read music and improvise as needed.
·Familiarity with international standards and a range of musical styles to cater to a global audience.
·Experience with or openness to seasonal music selection (e.g., holiday themes).
·Ability to create an ambiance that aligns with a luxury environment, adjusting style and volume as needed.
·Strong interpersonal skills, friendly and approachable demeanour, with an ability to handle guest requests courteously.
·Well-groomed and able to present themselves in a manner consistent with luxury standards.
·Proven experience as a pianist in high-end venues, luxury hotels, or similar settings.
·Proficient in a wide range of genres, including classical, jazz, light pop, and contemporary standards.
Working Conditions
·Evening Shifts: such as 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm, on days as required.
·Hours, including weekends and bank holidays.
