Under vast refurbishment and renovations, Theobalds is a beautiful site, with over 140 rooms when fully operational. Currently with c70 rooms open and available to guests, and Bistro style dining, we're building menus and putting the site back on the local map- roasts, events, guest dining, afternoon teas, with multiple kitchens and restaurants- bistro style to fine dining- it's all on the roadmap. We are looking for an enthusiastic Sous Chef with true passion for great food with a clear focus on presentation and quality service, able to inspire and lead the brigade;
Sous Chef responsibilities include:
· Create, prepare, cook and present dishes - running your section, leading section(s) and coordinating service with colleagues
. Mindful of wastage, portions, time efficiencies and working with all departments to ensure smooth service
· Supporting the Head Chef to lead and mentor less experienced colleagues- Working as team to deliver great food to guests in a timely manner
· Flexibility to cook and serve on any section to ensure smooth service- great fresh food, every time!
· Following Food Safety, and Health & Hygiene regulations at all times, including clear up and cleanliness of section
About you:
· Passionate about food, fantastic ingredients and mouth watering taste combinations
. Determined to deliver the best results, regardless of pressure
· A team player, who values input from others and inspires those around you to strive to be better too
· Exceptional attention to detail
· Willing to share ideas around improving the customer’s experience- whether that's creating a new sauce or practicing your knife skills!
