Deputy Manager

This isn't one for the faint-hearted.

At The Tivoli, our Deputy Managers aren't just deputies - they're General Manager-level operators. This is a role for someone who thrives in high-volume, fast-paced hospitality and knows how to lead from the front.

The Tivoli is unlike anywhere else in Cambridge. Spread across five floors, the venue combines two evolving street food kitchens, four vibrant bars, two 9-hole indoor golf courses, a shuffleboard basement, private screening and event spaces, and a stunning roof terrace overlooking Jesus Green. Every day brings something different, and every service demands energy, organisation and exceptional leadership.

As Deputy Manager, you'll be responsible for helping to lead one of the city's most exciting hospitality businesses. You'll know how to manage a large and diverse team, maintain the atmosphere and energy across an entire five-storey venue, and ensure every customer leaves having had an unforgettable experience.

This role demands someone who can balance operational excellence with genuine hospitality. You'll take ownership of every aspect of the business - from maintaining impeccable health and safety standards to driving service, coaching your team and making smart commercial decisions that improve performance.

You'll have a solid understanding of fresh food operations, great cocktails, stock control and P&L management. You'll know how to manage labour, control costs and deliver consistently strong financial results without ever compromising the customer experience.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a proven hospitality leader who:

  • Has experience managing large, high-volume hospitality venues.
  • Can confidently lead and inspire large teams across multiple departments.
  • Understands fresh food operations and premium beverage service.
  • Is commercially minded, with experience managing stock, labour and P&L.
  • Has exceptional operational standards and a thorough understanding of health and safety.
  • Thrives under pressure and enjoys the pace and unpredictability of a complex business.
  • Brings personality, energy and a genuine passion for creating memorable customer experiences.

No two days at The Tivoli are the same. From packed weekends and major events to private functions, rooftop parties and busy food service, you'll be at the centre of it all.
