Purpose of the role
As the Meeting and Events Chef you are central to our kitchen. This role is pivotal in delivering high-quality food experiences for meetings, corporate functions, weddings, conferences, and other private or public events. The ideal candidate will have strong culinary skills, a passion for presentation, and the ability to execute menus that delight guests and exceed client expectations. There is also an understanding that when required this role will include service duties outside of M&E, for example supporting the delivery of the Breakfast/Lunch and Dinner.

● Maintain prep lists and MEP schedules for current and upcoming service days.
● Foster strong communication with the FOH/M&E team and management for seamless service
● Support the team in food safety and H&S procedures.
● Communicate any challenges, conflicts, or updates to the management team.

● Oversee daily M&E kitchen operations, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow.
● Maintain the highest food standards by ensuring adherence to recipes, specifications, and plating guidelines. Ensure all dishes are prepared with consistency, following proper cooking methods and presentation standards. Conduct regular taste tests. Monitor food quality during service. Follow the “Menu changes” policy.
● Ensure full compliance with food safety regulations (HACCP), hygiene standards, and allergen management.
● Ensure cleaning schedules are completed and documented, including deep cleans.
● Ensure proper PPE use (COSHH).
● Stay on top of COGS% control and work toward achieving agreed targets, proactively addressing any variances.
● Follow the “Menu changes” policy to ensure all menu changes at Winnie's are executed smoothly, maintaining compliance with food safety regulations.
● Oversee completion of due diligence, checklists, and all temperature checks (fridges/freezers, cooking/reheating, cooling, etc.).
● 100% completion of Alert65 tasks is expected. Please refer to our internal Food safety guide for guidance.
● Ensure all food is stored safely and in compliance with Health & Safety regulations.
● Maintain proper food labelling procedures and ensure team adherence. Please refer to Winnie’s labelling procedure for guidance.
● In the event of an accident, provide immediate assistance, report to management, and document the incident appropriately..
● Assign and delegate prep tasks effectively to ensure timely service setup.
● Maintain prep lists and schedules for current and upcoming service days.
● Place and receive orders and process invoices through Nory, ensuring accuracy and timely stock replenishment + Store & save invoices.
● Inspect deliveries, addressing any discrepancies with suppliers.
● Ensure an adequate supply of cleaning products and consumables is maintained.
