Job Title:                                    Sales Manager

 

Responsible To:                      Director of Sales & Marketing (DOSM)

 

Type of Contract:                   Full-time, Permanent

 

Main Purpose of Job:             

The Sales Manager is an individual who has experience in the sales process and function of a hotel. Responsibilities include selling guest rooms, meeting space and other services to customer groups, managing accounts, and conducting site inspections, soliciting and generating business. The ideal candidate will effectively plan & co-ordinate all resort events functions which includes but is not limited to corporate conferences, corporate golf days, incentives and social events. To ensure that professional, efficient, friendly, detailed and timely service is provided to all internal and external clients and guests. Maximise revenues by ensuring the department is effectively booking, forecasting, planning, co-ordinating, billing, and analysing all detail, together with up-selling resort products and services.

 

 

MAIN DUTIES

 


  • To be proactive with locating and developing new business in line with the revenue and sales targets and ensure all opportunities are taken to promote products & services to our customers and to increase the client base.
  • Establish key relationships with corporate clients, agencies and industry associations to ensure maximum exposure and increase revenue.
  • Organise corporate sales promotional initiatives onsite, nationally and internationally in accordance with agreed budgets.
  • To host any promotion events or external site visits as required by the DOSM.
  • Be aware of the key trends in the market and take appropriate action. Be mindful of what our competitors are doing / developing in the market place & report accordingly.
  • To ensure personal presentation is of the highest standards at all times to project a professional image to clients
  • Be present in Trump Doonbeg to meet and greet customers as appropriate.
  • Entertain prospective clients where appropriate.
  • Attend Sales Meeting at Doonbeg at least twice monthly & conference call in for when off site.
  • Follow the corporate pricing strategies set by the Revenue Director
  • Ensure accurate client & prospecting information is recorded in company CRM.
  • To effectively coordinate all MICE business, ensure efficient transition for each contracted event, manage clients through the planning stages, take responsibility for all payment deadlines, present detailed documentation to support the operational departments with execution, ensure final invoice payment is collected and future events secured prior to departure.
  • Be responsible for events system accuracy including but not limited to booking details; group accommodation, banqueting and golf/spa/leisure.
  • To ensure that all Event summaries and banqueting event orders produced by the department are done so with a high level of accuracy, signed off by the client, and distributed internally in accordance with company timelines. While taking responsibility for the banqueting forecast. 
  • A strong understanding of Social Media channels and be able to work with the  Social Media Managers create and maintain brand promotions, company information, and marketing campaigns for their company across several social platforms
  • Supporting role to Wedding Events and be able to apply the above functions where needed.
  • To manage special projects under the direction of the Director of Sales & Marketing (DOSM).

 

HEALTH & SAFETY

 

  • To fulfil your obligations under the Health & Safety at Work Act 1989 and any revisions or additional legislation made thereto.
  • Knowledge of local and company hygiene, health and safety regulations
  • To ensure that reasonable care is taken for health and safety of yourself, other employees, guests and any other person on the premises.
  • To keep your work area clean, tidy and safe and report any hazard, accident, loss or damage to management.
  • To be aware of trained first-aid personnel on the premises and have knowledge of the location of first aid boxes/fire extinguishers/alarms.
  • To observe all safety rules and procedures, including those laid down in the Health & Safety Statement for your place of work.
  • To carry out and promote fire and accident drills as directed by the hotel safety officer.

QUALIFYING CRITERIA

 

  • Bachelor’s degree would be preferred and qualification in Events Management/Hospitality would be an asset but at least 3 years of experience in an Event planning role in luxury hotel operations together with team supervisory experience is essential.
  • Must be able to communicate freely and eloquently in both written and spoken English.
  • Strong judgement, the ability to think strategically, execute tactically and collaborate across many teams and levels.
  • A proactive, self-starter who is able to work within a team as well as individually.
  • Excellent time management & organisational skills are essential.
  • Must possess well developed computer skills and enjoy a substantial amount of office based computer work.
  • Extreme attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment are essential together with a passion for events and desire for continual department performance improvement.
  • Must be able to work shifts, weekends, holidays and adhere to our immaculate grooming policy and strict uniform standards.
