Job Title:                                   Night Porter

 

Department:                           Front Office

 

Responsible To:                      Night Manager / Rooms Division Manager

  

Main Purpose of Job:            Reporting to the Night Manager, the Night Porter will assist the Night team in meeting the variety of guest requests that may arise, helping to create a pleasant and memorable stay for our guests.


Liaises with:                            All Hotel Departments

 

MAIN DUTIES

  • In the event that a guest is late arriving from his/her destination, check-in procedures will be required to be carried out.
  • The guest will be required to be brought to his /her suite and all provision made to ensure that he/she is made comfortable and any food and beverage requirements that he/she may have is catered for.
  • Porterage service in the Courtyard, Suites, and lodge.
  • Guest service within the Courtyard, Suites and lodge.
  • Room Service/Bar Service as requested by guest/member/owner.
  • Cleaning duties or any other duties outlined by t the Front Office manager/Night Auditor on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.
  • Ensuring that all bar service is adhered to, in relation to our licensing restrictions.
  • Ensuring all fire and safety procedures have been carried out and recorded, as per your remit.
  • Ensuring the safety/security and comfort of our members / guests and owners at all times by monitoring all areas of vulnerability i.e. machinery / doors / equipment / gas fires and or cookers etc.
  • To perform the Night Audit procedures, if required.
  • To carry out any cleaning duties as indicated by the Night Manager on a daily / weekly / or monthly basis.
  • Check-out procedures, if guest is checking-out before Front Desk commence in the morning.

  • A friendly out going, honest person.
  • Demonstrates good communication skills.
  • Previous customer/service position desirable.

  • Does not mind working Night shifts.
  • A good listener.
  • Be able to anticipate Guests Needs.
  • Discretion.
  • Computer literate.
  • Strong team player.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Positive attitude, cheerful and courteous demeanour.
