Job Title: Resort Security Supervisor


Department: A&G


Responsible To: Resort General Manager


Secondary Reporting To: Director of Finance or the Director of Human Resources.

Type of Contract: Full-time, Permanent. 

  • 40 hours per week from April to October end. 

  • 3 days per week. Nov to March end.

Main Purpose of Job:

The Security Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of security operations within the resort and hotel. This role involves enhancing guest care, conducting regular patrols, implementing employee health and safety measures, managing random drug and alcohol screening, and preventing theft in both guest and staff areas. The Security Supervisor will collaborate with company security consultants to develop and improve security protocols and procedures, work closely with An Garda, and train and develop security team members while educating all resort employees on security and safety awareness.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor surveillance systems to identify suspicious activities and respond appropriately.

  • Document all incidents and observations accurately, ensuring thorough reporting.

  • Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and emergency drills.

  • Serve as a resource for employees regarding safety practices and emergency procedures.

  • Collaborate with HR to develop and promote wellness and substance abuse prevention programs.

  • Develop and enforce policies to prevent theft and unauthorized access to staff and guest areas.

  • Conduct inspections of staff areas, including lockers and break rooms, to ensure adherence to security protocols.

  • Work closely with company security consultants to assess current security protocols and recommend improvements.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of enhanced security measures tailored to the resort's unique needs.

  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices to continuously improve security operations.

  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with An Garda.

  • Coordinate responses to incidents requiring police involvement and participate in community safety initiatives.

  • Facilitate security briefings with local police to share information and enhance collaboration.

  • Train and develop security team members, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to perform their duties effectively.

  • Conduct regular training sessions on security protocols, emergency response, and customer service for all resort employees.

  • Foster a culture of vigilance among staff, promoting awareness of security issues and encouraging proactive reporting.

  • Act as the primary point of contact during emergencies, coordinating with local authorities and emergency services.

  • Develop and implement comprehensive emergency response plans, conducting drills to ensure staff preparedness.

  • Evaluate incidents and develop recommendations for improvements to security protocols.

  • Manage ‘lost and found’.

  • Conduct ‘till’ check with the Finance Team.

  • Ensure relevant areas of Lounge Up system remain current, keeping all associates informed.

  • Maintain a register of staff on the property for security/fire purposes through the company time and attendance system.

  • Perform all tasks consistently in line with the hotel standards and adhere to all legal and statutory requirements.

  • There may be occasions when the role is called while off duty for emergent situations for reference or advice on dealing with a particular matter.

  • Lead regular security meetings to discuss incidents, trends, and areas for improvement.




Health & Safety

  • The role will play an active part in Trump Doonbeg, Health and Safety Committee and fulfil your obligations under the Health & Safety at Work Act 1989 and any revisions or additional legislation made thereto.

  • Maintain knowledge of local and company hygiene, health & safety regulations.

  • To rigidly follow and observe all hygiene and HACCP standards.

  • To ensure that reasonable care is taken for the health and safety of yourself, other employees, guests and any other person on the premises.

  • To keep your work area clean, tidy and safe and report any hazard, accident, loss or damage to management.

  • To be aware of all trained first-aid personnel on the premises and have knowledge of the location of first aid boxes/fire extinguishers/alarms.

  • To observe all safety rules and procedures, including those laid down in the Health & Safety Statement for your place of work.

  • To carry out and promote fire and accident drills as directed by Management.

Qualifications:

  • The successful candidate will be garda vetted and will have a valid PSA licence.

  • Proven experience in a security supervisory role, preferably in the hospitality or luxury service industry.

  • Strong knowledge of security protocols, health and safety regulations, and emergency response procedures.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.

  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism.

  • Proficient in the use of surveillance equipment and reporting software.

  • Proficient in using security systems and technologies, including CCTV, access control systems, and emergency alarm systems.

  • Knowledge of Irish laws, regulations, and safety standards related to security.

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, and respond

  • to emergencies on short notice.

  • Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred.

  • A valid driver's license is required.
