Job Title:                                                      Spa Supervisor

Responsible To:                                        Spa Management – Director of F&B and Spa

 

Type of Contract:                                      Permanent

 

Main Purpose of Job:                               To receive customers to a Spa and attend to their enquiries about services offered in the Spa.


Liaises with:                                               Front Desk, Reservations, Concierge

 

MAIN DUTIES

 

  • Arrive to work on time, appropriately groomed and in the correct uniform.
  • The role will involve assisting the Director of F&B and Spa in the development and growth of the spa, supervision of a team of employees, training and development of staff in line with our company standards.
  • Manage Client Experience – The Spa Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that every client’s experience is exceptional and that any client concerns or dissatisfaction is addressed.   
  • Attend and communicate at company meetings to other departments on a regular basis and in the absence of the Director of F&B and Spa.
  • Working with the Arch Amenities Group on all aspects of marketing.
  • Liaising with the Arch Amenities Group on a weekly basis and producing daily reports for overseas consultants.
  • Supervise and schedule all employees in spa in the absence of the Director of F&B and Spa.
  • To ensure all employees are fully trained and understand what is expected of them in their roles.
  • To ensure all reasonable requests are honoured irrespective of time and situation.
  • To regularly monitor and ensure that the established White Horses Spa standards of service are maintained and updated regularly
  • To regularly report to the Director of F&B and Spa on the day-to-day runnings of the Spa
  • As a supervisor you are responsible for the health, safety and well-being of your staff.
  • Verify all scheduled staff members are present for their opening shift.
  • Advise HR/ Director of F&B and Spa of any absences.
  • Welcome and check in guests upon their arrival, complete necessary paperwork and introduce guest to the Spa Attendant.
  • Book, schedule and confirm all appointment requests received by phone, email or in person and notify each guest of cancellation policies.
  • Advise guests of the menu of services available to them and provide a summary of what each treatment involves.
  • Upsell additional treatments and services, if and where appropriate.
  • Perform all check-in and check-out tasks.
  • Inform customers regarding authorisation and payment methods and verify their credit card data.
  • Collect all essential contact and payment information.
  • Balance all tender types i.e. credit cards, member charges, gift certificates and any miscellaneous charges.
  • Maintain updated records of bookings and payments.
  • Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanour at all times.
  • Respond to customer issues, complaints, problems in a quick and efficient manner to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and quality service.
  • Ensure safety standards are met by following guest and security procedures. and reporting any suspicious activity to security, manager, or Manager on Duty.
  • Participate in training programmes as required.
  • Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel which can include day, evening or weekend shifts.
  • Additional duties as required at hotel front desk.

 

HEALTH & SAFETY

 

  • To fulfil your obligations under the Health & Safety at Work Act 1989 and any revisions or additional legislation made thereto.
  • To ensure that reasonable care is taken for health and safety of yourself, other employees, guests and any other person on the premises.
  • To keep your work area tidy and safe and report any hazard, accident, loss or damage to management.
  • To be aware of trained first-aid personnel on the premises and the location of first aid box.
  • To observe all safety rules and procedures, including those laid down in the Health & Safety Statement for your place of work.
  • To carry out and promote fire and accident drills as directed by the hotel safety officer.

QUALIFYING CRITERIA

 

  • Experience of 5 star hospitality an advantage. 
  • Highly computer literate, with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint to name a few.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Strong team player
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Positive attitude, cheerful and courteous demeanour.
  • Ability to work flexible hours.
  • Ability to remain calm whilst under pressure. 
  • Additional languages an advantage.
