Job Description –  Spa Therapist

Job Title:                              Spa Therapist

 

Department:                      White Horses Spa

 

Responsible To:                 Spa Supervisor

 

Type of Contract:              Permanent

 

Main Purpose of Job:       To provide luxury face and body treatments to enhance the beauty and well-being of our high-end residents through five-star guest service and spa product recommendations.

 

Liaises with:                       Spa Front Desk, Spa Supervisor 

 

MAIN DUTIES 

  • Arrive to work on time, appropriately groomed and in the correct uniform.
  • Perform facials and other skin care services based on the treatments our guests choose using luxury skincare brands in addition to performing massage and body treatments.
  • Maintain a clean and sterilized workspace.
  • Confer with clients regarding their medical histories and problems with stress or pain to determine how massage can be most helpful.
  • Prepare and blend oils/products and apply the blends to clients’ skin.
  • Use complementary aids, such as skincare devices, wet compresses, ice and whirlpool baths to promote clients’ recovery, relaxation and well-being.
  • Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanour at all times.
  • Participate in training programmes as required.
  • Follow all Spa SOPs as described in the spa manual.
  • Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the hotel's business needs, which can include day, evening or weekend shifts.

QUALIFYING CRITERIA 

  • C.I.B.T.A.C.  I.T.E.C or C.I.D.E.S.C.O qualified. 
  • Must hold current massage therapy certification.
  • Previous spa experience preferred.
  • Experience of 5-star hospitality an advantage. 
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Strong team player.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Positive attitude, cheerful and courteous demeanour.
  • Ability to work flexible hours.
  • Ability to remain calm whilst under pressure.
