The Retail Manager is responsible for overseeing all retail and daily pro shop operations within the golf resort. This role ensures exceptional guest service, maximizes retail sales and profitability, manages inventory and merchandising, supervises staff, and supports golf events and resort activities. A key project for this position will involve developing an online retail presence for the resort. The manager serves as a key point of contact for members, guests, and golfers while maintaining the highest standards of hospitality and operational excellence. This role works alongside the Head Golf Pro and the Golf Operations Manager
Manage all golf shop retail operations, including apparel, equipment, accessories, and gift merchandise.
Develop merchandising strategies to maximize sales and profitability.
Order, receive, price, and replenish inventory.
Conduct inventory counts and monitor stock levels, shrinkage, and turnover.
Build and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers.
Analyse sales reports and identify opportunities to improve product performance.

Oversee Trump Store within Hotel
Deliver exceptional service to resort guests, members, and non resident golfers per Trump Hotel/Golf Standards
Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and special requests professionally.
Ensure the golf shop is clean, organised, and visually appealing.
Promote resort services, golf packages, tournaments, and special events.
Oversee daily opening and closing procedures.
Manage POS systems, cash handling, and end-of-day reconciliation.
Coordinate tee-time bookings and golfer check-in procedures.
Maintain accurate retail and operational records.
Ensure compliance with resort policies and golf course procedures.
Attend internal and external meetings as required
Respond to internal and external communications/emails/requests
Utilise internal systems i.e. purchasing, Human resources/payroll, Health & Safety, maintenance
Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise pro shop staff.
Ensure team are compliant in all internal and mandatory training requirements
Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching.
Ensure staff deliver outstanding customer service and maintain professional appearance standards.
Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment.
Coordinate with golf professionals and other resort departments to enhance guest experiences.
Support marketing initiatives and promotional campaigns.
Help maximize participation and revenue from golf-related events.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
3+ years of retail management is essential. Golf operations, hospitality, or resort management experience is desirable.
Strong knowledge of golf merchandise, equipment, and apparel.
Experience with retail POS systems, inventory management, and sales reporting.
Excellent leadership, communication, and customer-service skills.
Ability to work weekends, holidays, and flexible schedules during peak golf seasons.
PGA affiliation or golf industry experience preferred but not always required.
