Financial Planning and Analysis Manager - Up to £80k + Bonus - Urban Pubs and Bars - London  

Urban Pubs and Bars are seeking an experienced Financial Planning and Analysis Manager to join our Finance team. The successful candidate will be friendly, personable and passionate about the food and beverage industry. This is a fantastic opportunity for an FP&A Manager to join an award-winning, London-based pub, bar and restaurant group.

The Role:  

Working closely with numerous stakeholders throughout the business, the FP&A Manager will report to the CFO and will be responsible for the preparation of weekly flash reporting, assisting with the annual budgeting and reforecast processes across the Group as well as supporting with the financial analysis and production of accurate, insightful information to help inform both short term and strategic decisions.  


Key Responsibilities:  

You are custodian of the annual planning and budgeting process.  

Working alongside the CFO to develop a 3 Year Plan framework for the business. 

Own the annual Budget process liaising with operations on site sales, labour, gross margin and discretionary cost budgets and with management accountants to budget for fixed costs. 

Work under the guidance of the CFO to maintain a fully integrated P&L, Balance sheet and Cashflow budget model. 

  • Preparation of weekly and monthly operational reports and Key Performance Indicators (“KPI’s”) for UPB, for example weekly sales & wages reports and monthly operations reports to present and highlight key performance trends.  
  • Develop a framework, and be the custodian for, quarterly reforecasting within the business.  
  • Develop a report to monitor capital expenditure for new site acquisitions, refurbishment of existing sites and for maintenance capital including post investment appraisal.  
  • Become the Finance Team expert for reporting from UPB’s key systems (Sage 50cloud accounting, Zonal Till system and S4Labour payroll and scheduling) and take ownership of databases, Data Warehouse or other excel reports/models that are used/developed for the purpose of reporting.  
  • Support the Operations Director and Operations Managers through providing a suite of insightful weekly and monthly KPI reports  
  • Assist the CFO or any other member of the Finance team with any ad-hoc reporting, analysis, projects or planning that may be required from time to time 

As FP&A Manager you will have the following skills and experience:  

  • Advanced Excel experience  
  • Excellent data analysis and presentation skills.  
  • Experience working with various systems and large, complex datasets.  
  • Strong understanding of financial statements and ability to model them  
  • Analytical, creative thinker, who is detail oriented.  
  • Self-motivated problem solver.  
  • Willingness to implement process improvement.  
  • Experience with data analytics visualisation tools. 
  • The candidate is likely to be a qualified accountant with c.5 years’ PQE
