Role: Sous Chef

Pay: £14 - £16 per hour + tronc
Job Type: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Location: The Overstrand, Undercliff Dr, Boscombe, Bournemouth BH5 1BN

We are looking for an experienced
 Sous Chef to join our busy beachfront restaurant and talented Kitchen Team. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, reliable, and confident working in a fast-paced environment. As Sous Chef, you will support the Head Chef in leading the kitchen, maintaining exceptional food standards, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.

Your responsibilities as a Sous Chef:
  • Supporting the Head Chef with the daily running of the kitchen.
  • Leading and supervising the kitchen team in the Head Chef's absence.
  • Preparing and overseeing the production of high-quality dishes.
  • Ensuring all food is prepared and presented to the highest standards.
  • Maintaining a safe, clean, and hygienic kitchen environment.
  • Assisting with stock control, ordering, and minimising food waste.
  • Training, mentoring, and supporting junior members of the kitchen team.
  • Ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations.
  • Working closely with the Head Chef to maintain efficient kitchen operations.
What we are looking for:
  • Previous experience as a Sous Chef or a strong Chef de Partie looking to progress.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team in a busy kitchen.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Knowledge of best practices for food safety, hygiene, and sanitation.
  • Passion for delivering outstanding food and maintaining high standards.
  • Strong multitasking and time management skills.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexible and reliable with a positive attitude.
