Urban Reef is looking for an experienced and passionate Sous Chef to join our leadership team. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented chef who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and is ready to take the next step in their career.

Working alongside our Head Chef, you'll play a key role in delivering exceptional food, leading the kitchen team, and maintaining the highest standards of quality, consistency and service.

Responsibilities:

• Support the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen.
• Lead and motivate the kitchen team during service.
• Ensure every dish is prepared and presented to the highest standard.
• Maintain consistency across all menu items.
• Assist with ordering, stock control and stock rotation.
• Minimise waste and manage GP through effective kitchen practices.
• Ensure full compliance with food hygiene, HACCP and health & safety regulations.
• Train, mentor and develop junior chefs and kitchen staff.
• Help create seasonal specials and contribute ideas for menu development.
• Maintain a clean, organised and efficient kitchen.

What we're looking for:

• Minimum 3 years' experience in a Sous Chef or strong Chef de Partie role.
• Experience working in a busy, high-volume fresh food kitchen.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
• Passion for quality ingredients and consistently delivering great food.
• Calm under pressure with a positive, can-do attitude.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and kitchen operations.
• Flexible to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
