About the Opportunity

As an Assistant General Manager with Hudson House, you’ll play a pivotal role in bringing our vision to life each day. This is more than a leadership position; it’s an opportunity to shape culture, inspire excellence, and create experiences that define modern hospitality. Core Responsibilities

  • Create unforgettable dining experiences by exceeding guest expectations and demonstrating a passion for hospitality

  • Lead by example, embodying Vandelay’s standards of excellence with a high-energy, service-oriented approach

  • Address guest concerns—both written and verbally providing creative and effective solutions

  • Assist in interviewing, hiring, training and onboarding new team members

  • Continuously develop and mentor team members through cross-training and leadership support

  • Conduct pre-shift meetings, ensuring the team is informed of key business updates and motivated to deliver exceptional service

  • Review reservations and coordinate special occasions to ensure all details are flawlessly executed

  • Assist in managing weekly staff schedules in coordination with the General Manager

  • Maintain the highest standards of food safety, sanitation, and service quality

  • Ensure food is consistently prepared and served according to Vandelay’s standards for excellence, recipes, portioning and presentation

  • Oversee administrative responsibilities, ensuring timely and accurate submission of reports and documentation

  • Ensure compliance with all local, state and federal laws and regulations


Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's Degree in Restaurant / Hospitality Management or similar field of study strongly preferred

  • 2+ years of full service restaurant manager experience strongly preferred

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays 

  • Trustworthy, detail-obsessed and open to constructive feedback

  • Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal 

  • Desire and natural ability to with our engage guests, exuding an infectious commitment to guest service at all times
