Position Overview

 

The Facilities Manager will oversee the repair, maintenance and general upkeep of all VHG restaurant locations, ensuring that all systems, equipment, and the physical environment are in excellent working condition. This role requires a highly organized and hands-on individual who can manage multiple projects simultaneously and collaborate with both internal teams and external contractors to ensure seamless operations.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Management for New Openings
    Lead the project management efforts for new restaurant openings, ensuring that all construction, renovation and installation projects stay on schedule. Coordinate with contractors, vendors and the VHG Facility Team to ensure that punch list items are completed on time and to specification.
  • HVAC & System Maintenance
    Oversee the repair and maintenance of the restaurant's HVAC systems and other essential mechanical and electrical systems. Troubleshoot issues, coordinate repairs and ensure all systems operate at peak efficiency.
  • Appliance & Equipment Oversight
    Supervise the maintenance and repair of restaurant appliances and equipment, ensuring that all items are in good working condition. Develop and implement preventative maintenance plans to reduce downtime.
  • Equipment Log Management
    Maintain and update equipment logs for all Hudson House restaurants, tracking critical information such as warranty status, maintenance history and upcoming service needs.
  • External Areas Maintenance
    Oversee the upkeep and appearance of the external areas of Hudson House restaurants,

including parking lots, landscaping, signage and building exteriors. Ensure that these areas are safe, clean and welcoming to guests.

  • Collaboration with VHG Facility Team
    Partner with the VHG Facility Team to manage and complete punch list items for new restaurant openings, ensuring all final touches are completed before the grand opening.

 

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in facilities management, maintenance or a related field, preferably in the restaurant or hospitality industry
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Hands-on knowledge of HVAC systems, commercial appliances and general building maintenance
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and tools as needed
  • Flexibility to work a Tuesday - Saturday schedule (with Sunday and Monday off)
