About the Opportunity

As an Expo (Food Expeditor) at Vandelay Hospitality Group, you play a crucial role in ensuring seamless coordination between the kitchen and dining room. Your primary responsibility is to organize, inspect, and facilitate the timely delivery of dishes, ensuring accuracy, presentation, and efficiency. By maintaining strong communication between chefs and servers, you help create an exceptional dining experience for every guest. Our goal is to make every guest feel welcome, comfortable, and valued while exceeding their expectations.

Core Responsibilities

·         Maintain a high level of hospitality and professionalism with both team members and guests.

·         Coordinate food orders from the kitchen to the dining room, ensuring accuracy and proper presentation.

 Inspect dishes for correct plating, temperature, and modifications before they leave the kitchen.

·         Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and servers to ensure smooth service flow.

·         Maintain organization and cleanliness in the expo station at all times.

·         Assist in the setup and breakdown of expo areas before and after service.

·         Prioritize and expedite orders during peak hours to maintain efficient service.

·         Resolve any order discrepancies or guest concerns promptly and courteously.

·         Support servers and runners with food delivery as needed.

·         Participate in team meetings and training opportunities to enhance knowledge of food, wine, and service standards.

Qualifications

·         1+ years of experience in a high-volume restaurant, preferably in an expo or food runner role.

·         Strong sense of urgency and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

·         Excellent communication and coordination skills to manage kitchen and service team interactions.

·         Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy in food presentation and guest modifications.

Positive attitude, teamwork mindset, and a strong sense of ownership in the role.

·         Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining a high standard of service.

·         Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

·         Punctuality and reliability are essential.
