About the Opportunity

As an Expo (Food Expeditor) at Anchor Sushi Bar, you play a critical role in connecting the kitchen and dining room while ensuring every guest receives food that is accurate, timely, and beautifully presented. You are responsible for organizing and inspecting dishes before they leave the kitchen, communicating clearly with both culinary and service teams, and maintaining the pace and flow of service throughout the restaurant.

A significant part of this role involves managing and coordinating our to-go business. Expos are responsible for assembling, verifying, and packaging takeout orders with the same level of care, precision, and attention to detail that guests experience when dining in our restaurant. From ensuring order accuracy and presentation to including all sauces, utensils, and accompaniments, Expos help guarantee that every order leaves complete and ready to enjoy.

By fostering strong communication between chefs and service staff, maintaining high presentation standards, and ensuring the accuracy of all guest orders, Expos help create a seamless hospitality experience that consistently exceeds expectations.


Core Responsibilities

  • Verify that all to-go orders include the correct items, modifications, condiments, utensils, and accompaniments before leaving the restaurant

  • Maintain the overall cleanliness and organization of the expo line, kitchen pass, and surrounding service areas

  • Ensure all dishes are complete, accurate, and presented to standard before leaving the kitchen

  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with chefs and service staff to ensure timely and efficient food delivery

  • Call tickets clearly and manage the flow of orders to maintain proper pacing of service

  • Run food to guest tables as needed, ensuring each dish is delivered promptly and to the correct guest

  • Assist in running beverages when necessary and support service to maintain seamless guest experience

  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace throughout service, adhering to all health and safety standards

  • Support servers, bartenders, and hosts as needed to ensure smooth operations across the dining room

  • Reset and maintain cleanliness of the expo area and assist with general cleaning tasks during and after service

  • Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support the team and overall guest experience


Requirements

  • At least 18 years old

  • Detail-oriented with strong communication skills and work ethic

  • Team-oriented with a strong sense of punctuality and reliability

  • Ability to navigate a fast-paced environment while being positive, respectful, professional and having a genuine attitude towards guests and colleagues

  • Fluent in both written and spoken English

  • TABC Certification, as required

  • Certified for food and alcohol service as is required by State and Local Agencies


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

  • Ability to work standing and walking for extended periods of time
