About the Opportunity
Core Responsibilities
Work alongside the General Manager and leadership team to learn how high performing teams are coached, developed, and aligned with Vandelay’s culture and hospitality standards.
Participate in daily floor operations to gain hands on experience in service flow, guest engagement, and operational execution.
Model professional, polished hospitality while observing how leaders create an environment where team members thrive.
Support guest interactions and learn how concerns are resolved with confidence and a solutions focused mindset.
Assist with onboarding and training activities to understand performance expectations and service standards.
Gain exposure to scheduling and labor planning processes to understand how staffing impacts business performance.
Maintain active floor presence during service shifts, supporting teams and reinforcing execution, communication, and pacing standards.
Learn how key financial metrics such as labor, inventory, and cost of goods influence overall restaurant performance.
Uphold food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards while developing strong operational habits.
Partner with culinary and front of house leaders to understand menu execution, product quality, and presentation standards.
Develop familiarity with company policies and regulatory compliance through guided learning and observation.
Assist with inventory processes and product organization to understand cost control and quality management practices.
Support the maintenance of a polished and welcoming restaurant environment for guests and team members.
Participate in pre shift meetings and leadership discussions to gain insight into communication strategies and daily priorities.
Observe and analyze guest feedback and service patterns to identify opportunities for operational improvement.
Learn how accountability and performance standards are upheld within a culture rooted in professionalism and growth.
Requirements
High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's Degree in Restaurant / Hospitality Management or similar field of study strongly preferred
2+ years of full-service restaurant experience preferred, but not required
Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays
Trustworthy, detail-obsessed and open to constructive feedback
Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal
Desire and natural ability to with our engage guests, exuding an infectious commitment to guest service at all times
