Part-Time Maintenance Engineer

Venice V Hotel is looking for a skilled Engineer. Venice V Hotel is Venice’s only beachfront lifestyle hotel, designed in a soulfully reimagined 1915 landmark. Once a hangout for the Hollywood elite, the V is a home base for today’s creative nomad, just steps from Venice’s legendary skate park, surf, eclectic dining, and entertainment. Inside each distinct room, suite, and rooftop bungalow, original period details seamlessly blend with modern amenities... and every room offers a stunning Pacific ocean view.

The Engineer will be responsible for the maintenance efforts including the physical aspects of the building, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, major appliances. The Engineer maintains preventative maintenance within the rooms to ensure they are being kept up to standards on a regular basis and the proper documentation is being recorded.

Job Overview

• Respond to maintenance requests received from the Front Desk or Housekeeping
• Diagnose problems or repairs machines
• Complete work orders in a timely and efficient manner
• Inspect and test machinery and equipment
• Conduct preventative maintenance relating to all property's units, public areas & amenities
• Maintain focus on a high-level of guest satisfaction
• Provide a warm, authentic greeting to all residents and guests according to company standards
• Work effectively in a fast-paced environment and maintain composure at all times

Qualifications

• Minimum 1-3 years’ experience in a hotel environment
• Knowledge about the mechanics of the hotel including; boiler systems, booster pump systems, building automation, electrical and plumbing systems
• Knowledge of painting, finish work and minor carpentry
• Must possess excellent interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills
• Must be service-oriented and have a positive attitude
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, consistent with the needs of the property
• Collaborate with Colleagues cross-departmentally
• Perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy
• Work cohesively with Colleagues as part of a team

Education
High School degree or equivalent required.
