Chef de Partie

Description

We are an ambitious, award-winning business who pride ourselves in giving our chefs the freedom to create premium, seasonal menus that ‘wow’ our customers within an industry leading environment.  We run friendly, welcoming, and positive kitchens with high standards always striving to be the best we can be.

We are looking for a Chef de Partie to join the family.

Situated on the banks of the River Cherwell in Old Marston, the Victoria is a stunning riverside pub and restaurant. Full of local history, the building dates back to the 17th century and once hosted a certain Oliver Cromwell. Newly refurbished, the Victoria now offers traditional pub charm with beautiful interiors, a new heated pergola terrace, and huge beer gardens overlooking the river.

In the kitchen our focus is hearty seasonal dishes and elevated pub classics, with local produce and ingredients at the heart of the menu. In the warmer months, it’s all about street food inspiration, with wood-fired pizza, smash burgers, and soft-serve ice cream served to our busy terrace and garden. Behind the bar we’re proud of our beer selection, with a great range of ale, lager and cider courtesy of our award-winning Butcombe Brewery.

Look out for exciting events, live music and pop-ups throughout the summer!

What’s in it for you?

  • The chance to work for an award-winning business.  We have won the Best Food offer (2019 & 2020) and Best Managed Pub Company (2021) at The UK Publican Awards. You will be working with some of the most talented chefs in the industry.
  • You will work closely with some of the best locally sourced ingredients; learning and executing technical skills that reflect our premium food menus.
  • A competitive hourly rate, an equal share of great tips and 75% off food on shift.  You will get paid for the hours you work.
  • The opportunity to work for a diverse company and gain experience in a range of kitchens and menus; all with the aim of you gaining as much experience as possible.
  • Access to industry leading training and development.  We offer bespoke training plans as part of our ‘Pillars of Progression’ programme.
  • We offer additional support and coaching from our executive chef team.
  • We work with HIT training in providing industry leading apprenticeship schemes.
  • A business who cares about you.  We are ambassadors for the Burnt Chef Project fighting the stigma of mental health and working with them to train and support our teams.   We also offer an Employee Assistance Program that is there 24/7 to provide you with support.
  • We will back with you the tools you need to do a great job and have invested significantly in our kitchens.
  • Staff parties, events, training courses, great staff discounts and supplier discounts and much more!
