Overview:
The Host/Hostess serves as the first point of contact for guests, ensuring a warm and welcoming experience. They are responsible for managing reservations, greeting guests, and coordinating table assignments to optimize service efficiency. This role requires excellent communication skills, a friendly demeanor, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome guests warmly and escort them to their tables while maintaining a pleasant and professional attitude.
- Manage reservations and seating arrangements to ensure a smooth flow of guests throughout service.
- Maintain an organized waiting list, provide accurate wait time estimates, and accommodate special seating requests whenever possible.
- Communicate effectively with the dining and kitchen staff to optimize table turnover and ensure guest satisfaction.
- Assist in answering phone calls, providing information about the restaurant, menu, and policies.
- Ensure the front-of-house area is clean, presentable, and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Handle guest inquiries, feedback, and concerns in a polite and proactive manner.
- Coordinate with servers and other staff to accommodate guest needs, including special requests and celebrations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in customer service or hospitality is preferred.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to remain calm and courteous in a busy environment.
- Proficient in reservation management software and basic computer skills.
Working Conditions:
