Overview:
The Barista is responsible for preparing and serving high-quality beverages, such as coffee and tea, while delivering exceptional customer service. This role includes greeting customers, answering their questions about the menu, making recommendations, and handling transactions. The ideal candidate is friendly, detail-oriented, and passionate about coffee and creating a welcoming environment for all customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet customers warmly, take orders, and provide information on the menu, including special promotions and dietary options.
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages, including specialty drinks, following established recipes and techniques.
- Operate and maintain brewing and grinding equipment, ensuring they are clean and in good working order.
- Process customer payments accurately and efficiently using cash registers or point-of-sale systems.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, including the coffee bar, equipment, and customer seating areas.
- Monitor and replenish inventory as needed, including coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other supplies.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations, including proper food handling, hygiene, and sanitation practices.
- Provide friendly and attentive customer service, addressing any questions or concerns and resolving issues promptly.
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including restocking supplies and cleaning equipment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Barista or in a customer service role is preferred.
- Knowledge of various coffee drinks, brewing methods, and equipment.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
Working Conditions:
- Must be available to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment, often dealing with high volumes of customers.
