CPU Kitchen Assistant at WatchHouse.

In short : We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Porter to join our team. As a Kitchen Porter, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of our kitchen, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation and support the kitchen team as needed.

 Directly reports into (Line Manager) :  Kitchen Manager CPU 

 Key Responsibilities: 

  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen, including washing dishes, utensils, and equipment promptly and efficiently. 

  • Ensure the kitchen area is organised and stocked with necessary supplies. 

  • Assist in food preparation tasks, such as peeling, chopping, and cleaning vegetables. 

  • Support the kitchen team in maintaining a safe and hazard-free environment. 

  • Collaborate with kitchen team members to ensure smooth workflow and timely service. 

  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations and guidelines. 

 

The role in more detail: 

As a Kitchen Porter, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen by keeping all areas clean, organised, and well-stocked. Your main duties will include the washing of all crockery, cutlery, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment, using both manual and machine methods where necessary.

You will be tasked with maintaining cleanliness standards throughout the kitchen, including floors, surfaces, fridges, and storage areas, ensuring a hygienic environment that supports the kitchen team in delivering excellent food safely and efficiently.

During busy periods, you may also assist chefs with basic food preparation tasks such as peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients, following instructions carefully to maintain quality and consistency.

Flexibility is key, as you may be asked to help with deliveries, stock rotation, or other duties required by your line manager to support the wider kitchen and service team. You will play an essential part in ensuring that the kitchen runs smoothly, service is efficient, and health and safety standards are always upheld.
