Kitchen Porter, WatchHouse. 

The Kitchen Porter at WatchHouse will play a key role in the daily and ongoing success of the WatchHouse food vision and delivery. The ideal candidate for this role will have experience working in a professional kitchen and be confident with a keen attention to detail. 

Our kitchen operates as a central production unit, supplying freshly made food to 19 WatchHouse locations across London — and counting. As we continue to expand, the role of Kitchen Porter becomes even more crucial in supporting the day-to-day operations of our growing network. You’ll be part of a team that helps deliver consistency, reliability, and quality at scale, ensuring every House receives the best possible product, on time and in full. 

As a Kitchen Porter, you will ensure the kitchen remains spotless and well-stocked, assist with basic food prep when needed, and work closely with the kitchen team. to support the production of high-quality food for our Houses. You’ll play a key role in upholding our commitment to excellence and compliance through ongoing training and a proactive approach to hygiene and safety. 

 

 Directly reports into: Kitchen Manager. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • This is a hands-on role, being part of the team to make sure everything runs smoothly and efficiently.  

  • Follow correct processes to ensure equipment and utensils are clean and safe to use.  

  • Maintaining a clean workspace throughout the day.  

  • Complying with Food Hygiene and Health and Safety legislation.  

  • Assisting the kitchen team to ensure orders are fulfilled on time.  

 

 The role in more detail: 

  • Washing utensils, containers and other equipment used within the kitchen.  

  • Cleaning floors, sanitising stations, taking out the refuse and maintaining safety standards. 

  • Completing daily trail tasks to ensure food safety compliance. 

  • Assisting the kitchen team with basic prep such as washing vegetables.  

  • Assist with checking deliveries and storing following food safety rules.

Genuine passion for food and desire to deliver best in class products to our Houses. 

A positive can-do attitude, willing to go the extra mile.  

Level 2 Food Hygiene (prefable) 

Interpersonal skills, the ability to build and maintain relationships whilst showing empathy within your team. 

Attention to detail, be diligent in ensuring all processes are followed correctly. 

Familiar with using electronic equipment ipads/tablets etc 

Ability to accurately follow recipe specifications. 

Good verbal and written communication skills in English. 

Ability to work at well at pace when under pressure.  

Be available to work 5 out of 7 days including weekends.
