Kitchen Assistant, WatchHouse. 

The kitchen assistant at WatchHouse will play a key role in the daily and ongoing success of the WatchHouse food vision and delivery. The ideal candidate for this role will have experience working in a professional kitchen and be confident with a keen attention to detail. 

The kitchen assistant role is hands-on; someone who is passionate about quality, consistency and provenance, helping to produce best-in-class products savoury breakfast and lunch items to our Houses.  

They will be responsible for ensuring the breakfast and lunch grab & go lines are all prepared to standard, and in a timely fashion so Houses receive their orders on time and in full - along with participating in ongoing training to always ensure full compliance. 

Directly reports into: Kitchen Manager. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • This is a hands-on role, being part of the team to make sure everything runs smoothly and efficiently. 

  • Follow the correct recipe and product specification. 

  • Follow directions from the team leaders to ensure all orders are dispatched correctly. 

  • Maintaining a clean workspace throughout the day. 

  • Complying with Food Hygiene and Health and Safety legislation. 

 

 

 

The role in more detail: 

  • Preparing various savoury items, sandwiches and wraps according to daily orders. 

  • Accurately packing breakfast and lunch items for dispatch to houses on time. 

  • Assisting in the correct storage of deliveries.  

  • Preparing sandwich fillings, washing and chopping vegetables.  

  • Completing Trail tasks daily basis to ensure food safety compliance.  

  • Cleaning floors, sanitising stations, taking out the refuse and maintaining safety standards.

  • A positive can-do attitude, willing to go the extra mile.  

  • Level 2 Food Hygiene (prefable) 

  • Interpersonal skills, the ability to build and maintain relationships whilst showing empathy within your team. 

  • ● Attention to detail, be diligent in ensuring all processes are followed correctly. 

  • Familiar with using electronic equipment ipads/tablets etc 

  • ● Ability to accurately follow recipe specifications. 

  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English. 

  • ● Ability to work at well at pace when under pressure 

  • Be available to work 5 out of 7 days including weekends.
