Kitchen Team Leader, Production Kitchen (Based in Bermondsey Area).
WatchHouse is a collection of specialty coffee Houses across London, Bath, and New York. In short :
We are looking for a motivated and hands-on Kitchen Team Leader to join our food production team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of production lines, maintaining food safety standards, supporting the team in hitting production targets, and driving continuous improvement across the shift.
You’ll be at the heart of operations – from managing prep lists and packing orders to leading people, delegating tasks, and supporting stock control processes. If you're highly organised, calm under pressure, and passionate about food safety and operational excellence, we want to hear from you.
Directly reports into (Line Manager): Kitchen Manager
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure all production lines are completed to spec by the 8:30 AM deadline
- Manage day-to-day and weekly all Trail tasks and checklists
- Prepare and delegate prep lists and cleaning tasks to the team
- Oversee packing of orders and maintain portion control standards
- Drive a strong “Clean As You Go” culture across shifts
- Ensure full compliance with food safety and health & safety regulations
- Monitor and manage stock rotation and equipment safety
- Place orders according to production schedules
- Support and deliver training for new starters and team development
- Lead day-to-day people management on shift,
- Participate in stock counts and help implement action plans post-audit
- Assist with NPD (New Product Development) as needed
- Communicate effectively with managers and support teams to meet shift goals.
Key to this role:
- Previous experience in a food production or kitchen leadership role
- Strong understanding of food safety and health & safety standards
- Ability to lead, motivate, and manage a diverse team
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Confident in delegating, prioritising and decision-making under pressure
- Comfortable using systems like Trail//MarketMan or similar task/audit tracking tools
- Positive, solution-focused attitude with a hands-on approach
- Flexibility to work shift patterns and support wider operational needs
- X5 days including weekends.
- Be available to start at 5a.m. each shift
- Spanish speaking is a big plus!
You will be paid up to £14 + service charge per hour. The service charge is around £1 - £1.50 extra per hour.
