WatchHouse is a group of specialty coffee Houses across iconic neighborhoods in London, Bath and New York. As a Chef at WatchHouse, you will play a crucial role in coworking alongside your in-House team ensuring the delivery of exceptional food experiences to our valued customers each and every day. You will be responsible for preparing and cooking and presenting high-quality dishes, ensuring that they are visually appealing, delicious, and meet our customers' expectations. Your passion for food, diligent work ethic, empathy towards customers and team members, and can-do attitude will be essential in delivering outstanding experience.

to: Lead or Head Chef and House Manager.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Food Preparation and Cooking: Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, ensuring that they are executed to specification and the highest standards of presentation and quality. Follow recipes and guidelines to maintain consistency. 

  • Quality Control: Maintain strict quality control measures to ensure that all dishes leaving the kitchen meet WatchHouse's standards. Monitor portion sizes, taste, and presentation to deliver a consistent experience. 

  • Kitchen Operations: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, including managing stock, ordering supplies, and maintaining equipment. Adhere to food safety, health and safety and WatchHouse kitchen guidelines to ensure a clean and safe working environment. 

  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with all teams in House to ensure smooth coordination between the kitchen and floor. Communicate effectively with the House team to ensure efficient workflow and timely service. 

  • Training and Development: Guide, train and coach junior kitchen team, providing guidance on culinary techniques, safety procedures, and maintaining high standards of food preparation. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment. 

  • Work at Pace: Work at a pace that matches the demands of the kitchen and level of trade in House. You’ll need to be able to keep up with orders ensure that we meet the demands of our customer
    • Culinary Leadership: Lead and inspire your kitchen team, setting high standards for food preparation, presentation, food hygiene standards and overall kitchen operations. 

    • Menu Execution: Collaborate with the senior Food Team to execute to specification the WatchHouse brunch menu. 

    • Food Quality and Safety: Ensure that all food items are prepared and presented to the highest standards of quality, taste, and consistency. Adhere to food safety and health and safety guidelines to maintain a clean, safe and legal kitchen environment. 

    • Team Management: Train and develop the kitchen team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to enhance performance and promote professional growth. Assist with recruitment and trial shifts as needed. 

    • Stock Management and Cost Control: Manage food stock levels, minimising wastage, and controlling costs while maintaining quality standards. Collaborate with the House management team to optimise House profitability. 

    • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments in House, such as the front of house team, barista team and House management team, to ensure seamless coordination and an exceptional customer experience for each and every customer.
