Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Supervisor to join our craft beer bar team at the Waterloo Tap. The ideal candidate will be passionate about beer, dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service, and confident in leading a team during busy shifts. This hands-on role requires strong communication skills, a good understanding of compliance and licensing, and practical cellar management experience.

Key Responsibilities:

- Communicate clearly and professionally with both staff and customers to ensure a welcoming and efficient environment.
- Deliver a high level of customer service, addressing queries and resolving issues promptly.
- Apply intermediate knowledge of compliance and licensing regulations, ensuring all activities adhere to legal standards.
- Serve drinks with a focus on beverage dispense quality, ensuring every pour meets our standards.
- Maintain cleanliness throughout the bar, including the bar area, cellar, and customer spaces.
- Provide knowledgeable beer recommendations tailored to customer preferences.
- Act as a key holder, responsible for opening and closing the premises, including completing banking duties.
- Manage the team on shift, delegating tasks, supporting staff, and ensuring a smooth operation.
- Complete opening and closing procedures, including cashing up and securing the venue.
- Oversee cellar management, including cask and keg handling, line cleaning, and maintaining beer quality.
- Safely lift and move kegs/barrels and accept deliveries, following health and safety guidelines.

Essential Skills and Experience:

- Proven experience in a supervisory role within a bar or hospitality environment.
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver excellent customer service.
- Good working knowledge of licensing laws and compliance procedures.
- Experience with cellar management, including cask and keg handling.
- Ability to recommend beers confidently and accurately.
- Physically able to lift and move kegs/barrels as required.
- High standards of cleanliness and attention to detail.

Desirable:

- Passion for craft beer and willingness to continue learning about products and industry trends.
- Experience with staff training and development.

Flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
