Description

The Wave, Bristol, are recruiting a Front of House Team Leader on a permanent basis.

As a Front of House Team Leader at The Wave, you will assist in the running of the Food and Beverage department which includes the kitchen, clubhouse and site pop ups. Working alongside the Food & Beverage Manager and the Assistant Food & Beverage Manager, you will achieve this by ensuring the day-to-day operations run smoothly through people management, delegation and knowing what your departments needs at different times. You will be experienced across all areas (bar, floor, counter and kitchen) working wherever your department needs help. This experience allows you to assist in the training and coaching of your team so they are the best they can be.

Our F&B area can seat 300+ visitors (inside and out) and is a high-volume operation. We feed and water super hungry surfers, our guests staying at The Camp – a 25-safari tent set up, and spectators who come to hang out in our amazing venue.

Our Front of House Team Leader

  • Plan and lead the shift so that everyone is performing at their best throughout the day to enhance our visitor experience
  • Work in all sections, as and when necessary, from the bar to the back of house
  • Be the first point of contact for customer feedback and ensure any disputes or adverse comments are resolved
  • Work with and maintain relationships with third party companies such as suppliers
  • Go the extra mile to make our visitors happy and ensure they leave The Wave with a smile on their face
  • Support the Food & Beverage Managers to deliver the departmental objectives
  • Assist the Assistant Food & Beverage Manager to train Level 1 & 2 Front of House team members in-line with their training checklist
  • Ensure your team is always adhering to high levels of food hygiene safety practices
  • Work with the Food & Beverage Manager to adapt the department’s resource and offerings to stay in-line with targets and KPI’s
  • This role will include working patterns that vary throughout the year and there is a mixture of early, mid and late shifts with the earliest start time of 05:15 and a latest finish time of 00.00.

Why join The Wave?

Our values as a business are the same as those we have as people. And they’re very simple. We know that when people are happy in themselves, connected to a community and caring for their environment they tend to do the right thing, naturally. That’s the basis of how we work. We are adventurous, we are bold in our learning, adapt to change positively, face challenges together and explore new opportunities. We respect and care for each other and ourselves, supporting each other because people matter.

In return you’ll get:

  • Paid breaks
  • 30 days of paid holiday (inclusive of bank hols)
  • Opportunities to earn more through team incentive schemes
  • Free staff surfs
  • Pension
  • Staff discounts on retail of up 20%
  • Up to 75% off your surf bookings
  • Up to 40% off your food and beverage items while on shift
  • Up to 25% off our accommodation
  • The chance to work with a great team

We want everyone to be the best they can be throughout the recruitment process; if you require any additional adjustments, please let us know.

Recruiting for diversity is not simply a tick box exercise for The Wave. We are an Equal Opportunities employer, committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace.

Even if you don’t meet every single requirement outlined in the job description, we would still like to hear from you. The right attitude is as powerful as experience for many of the roles we recruit for.
