Description

Our inland surfing lake destinations are powered by the latest wave-making technology, offering perfect waves for all abilities. Embedded in stunning landscapes, we want to get people outdoors, into nature and enjoying life. All our work looks to make a positive impact; balancing financial, environmental and social objectives...whilst being sustainable.


We have ambitious plans and intentions to grow from our first site in Bristol, to our second site in London and then beyond, across Europe. We are now delighted to be hiring a Construction Director to join our team and help us deliver these ambitious upcoming projects.


The Role

As construction Director you will:

  • Oversee of all project management aspects of project delivery – this includes strategy, planning, pre-construction, design, procurement, delivery and aftercare
  • Report on project performance to the Board
  • Work closely with the internal clients to translate the operational requirements and ensure they are implemented into the design process
  • Coordinate all professional advisers and The Wave team to deliver the most effective and sustainable design
  • Ensure that sustainability is at the heart of the construction design and minimise the carbon footprint of each scheme
  • Be accountable for all construction governance and health and safety regulations for The Wave
  • Support the search, feasibility and development process for all future Wave sites
  • Run the construction tender processes
  • Contract manage all construction projects for the Wave
  • Ensure all as built design and O&M documentation, warranties and service contracts are handed over in full to the Wave Maintenance team

  • Highly Commercially aware 
  • Ability to negotiate, influence and manage challenging situations
  • Confident oral and written communication skills
  • Proactive, organised and a complete finisher
  • Diligent
  • Resilient
  • A good sense of humour

Experience: 

Due to the unique nature of The Wave, the successful applicant will ideally have:

  • A minimum of 10 years in the construction industry
  • Project management experience on major infrastructure projects
  • Proven delivery and primary management of projects on time and on budget
  • Worked internationally and in the UK
  • Experience in managing tenders
